Bayern Munich take the field on Saturday at the Allianz Arena against third place 1899 Hoffenheim. Four points separate the two sides in the table, and Bayern would like to stretch that out to seven as they head into the international break.
The big star of this match may not even be on the field but on the sideline. Twenty nine year old Hoffenheim manager Julian Nagelsmann currently has his club in a position that nobody saw them at when the season started. Yes, they still have matches remaining in the Hinrunde against Bayern, Borussia Dortmund, Borussia Mönchengladbach, and FC Köln, but they’re off to a great start already.
Carlo Ancelotti has a full squad at his disposal minus Javi Martinez. Franck Ribery may be available for the match, it just depends on his fitness level by the time Saturday rolls around. A big win at Hoffenheim would be a nice statement to make before the international break. Once Bayern returns to the Bundesliga, they have another big match: They head to Signal Iduna Park to take on Borussia Dortmund.
We asked three of our writers to predict what lineup Ancelotti will play against Hoffenheim.
