Bayern Munich players learn 2017 Confederations Cup fate

Germany certainly didn’t get the easier group.

The draw for the 2017 Confederations Cup took place on Saturday in Kazan, Russia. The eight team tournament will take place in Russia, one year before the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Several Bayern Munich players learned their fate for the tournament.

With the Confederations Cup coming in the year between the big continental tournaments and the 2018 World Cup, it’s possible that we see a secondary squad from teams like Germany, Portugal, and Chile.

Bayern will potentially have some representation in the tournament.

Portugal: Renato Sanches

Chile: Arturo Vidal

Germany: Jerome Boateng, Joshua Kimmich, Mats Hummels, Thomas Müller, Manuel Neuer

The tournament will take place from June 17 to July 2. The matches will be played in Kazan, Moscow, Sochi, and St. Petersburg.
