While FOX has taken the Bundeliga seriously during their broadcast rights tenure, it's good to see they're still willing to give Der Klassiker the due it deserves despite lackluster returns last season. This season's inaugural Klassiker will be broadcast on FOX.
Last year's 5-1 thumping from the Bavarians and their subsequent run to the title wasn't the showcase piece it could have been and the season's resulting few games — including a thrilling return fixture that only made TV at the last minute — on broadcast television underscore that impression. This year, with Bayern in the middle of a title chase with RB Leipzig and Dortmund just 6 points back, Der Klassiker has some serious oomph behind it. And FOX knows it.
The hype around Christian Pulisic with American audiences means they can double down on it.

Add in Mats Hummels and Mario Götze swapping sides and the rise of Sebastian Rode under Thomas Tuchel and there are more than enough storylines to drive home a compelling marquee matchup for FOX and the Bundesliga.
