Ahead of their upcoming World Cup Qualifiers, France has recalled Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman to the squad. The 20 year old likely won’t be a starter, but he gives France a dynamic and exciting option off of the bench to turn games on their head.
Coman was a part of France’s 2016 European Championship runner-up squad this summer, and barring some catastrophic injury, he’s going to be involved in this squad for the next decade at least.
They’re only one match into qualifying, but France were held to a scoreless draw in their first match against Belarus. On paper, they should skate through qualifying and finish at the top of the group, but we know these games aren’t always played on paper. If the Netherlands can put things together, they will challenge the French for the group.
France will play Bulgaria on October 7 at the Stade de France and the Netherlands on October 10 in Amsterdam.
