Bayern Munich have announced that Gianluca Gaudino has been loaned to FC St. Gallen for 18 months. The recent rumors of Gaudino's loan only had him targeting six months, but he will be trying to improve his game through the end of the 2016-17 season now. His contract in Munich runs through the summer of 2018.
After injuries thrust him into the first team picture last season, Gaudino has found himself playing with Bayern Munich II for the majority of the season in the Regionalliga.
Interestingly enough, there is a connection with Gaudino's loan and Julian Green's loan last season to Hamburg. The head coach of both teams at the time of the loan's start is Joe Zinnbauer. The former HSV manager took over St. Gallen in September.
FC St. Gallen currently sit in fifth place of the ten team Swiss Super League with 23 points. They are three points out of a Europa League place and ten points out of the Champions League.
