After being widely expected much of the week, Sinan Kurt's move from Bayern to Hertha BSC is official.
Though a Bild report had painted the prospective move as a loan with an option-to-buy, an FC Bayern press release clarified that Kurt had moved to Berlin for an undisclosed fee and signed a deal that will keep him at his new club through 2019.
Kurt joined Bayern from Borussia Mönchengladbach in the summer of 2014 for a reported €1.1 million transfer fee. The midfielder joins fellow former Bayern youngster Mitchell Weiser with Hertha Berlin.
Die Alte Dame are currently third in the Bundesliga at the winter break 14 points back of Bayern and six points behind second place Borussia Dortmund.
Though Kurt never materialized as the kind of player Bayern had hoped he would when they originally acquired him, a change of scenery and more potential opportunity may ultimately prove this move to be a successful one.
