In 2015, the Bundesliga gave us a glimpse into the dark, seedy underbelly of duck racing that we never knew that we needed. Quite frankly, we didn't even know that it existed. However, the organizing body was formed, and the BunDucksLiga will thankfully be making a comeback in 2016.
Last year, the Bundesliga clubs submitted their 17 ducks and 1 frog (Looking at you, Werder.) to three groups of six with the top two advancing to the final round. Borussia Dortmund, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Mainz, Bayern Munich, Werder Bremen and Hertha Berlin advanced to the final round.
In the final, BVB jumped out to an early lead, but Bayern and Hertha soon caught and passed their yellow rival. For four laps, the Bavarian and the Berliner battled in the water as they raced around the track. In the end, they were separated by a beak.

Hertha Berlin walked away from the race as the 2015 BunDucksLiga Champion. Bayern had to settle with being only the Bundesliga Champion.
The BunDucksLiga returns in 2016, and they'll be taking the competition outdoors. What will happen this time? Stay tuned.
