Heading into the final six months of his time at Bayern Munich, Pep Guardiola spoke to the media about his future and the club's future. With Pep destined for England either this summer or next, Carlo Ancelotti will step into the coach's role at FC Bayern this summer. What does Pep think about Bayern's decision to hire Ancelotti?
"Coaches come and go," Pep said, "but I think Carlo Ancelotti is a perfect choice to take over and I wish him all the best."
Ancelotti's last five managerial stops were Juventus, AC Milan, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, and Real Madrid. He's a man of great stature that can handle a job like FC Bayern, and he knows how to win trophies having won 17 in his career.
"The squad won trophies under Heynckes and for me." Pep continued, "they’ll be successful under Ancelotti, too. I’ll only be a small part of the history of their great club."
Even though his end date is known, Pep tried to calm fears that he's already looking beyond FC Bayern. "I will give my best until my last day in the job." Guardiola knows that trophies are the only thing to satisfy Bayern fans, and the team will give him the opportunity to win three more before his time is done.
