Community ratings show just how impressive Douglas Costa's first six months at Bayern were

The Bavarian Football Works community ratings love Douglas Costa. Just like we do.

When you win six Community Man of the Match awards in a Hinrunde in which you were in injured for an entire month, you know you were good. That was Douglas Costa's first five months in a Bayern Munich uniform.

Not only did the Brazilian "wow" Bayern fans but he also wowed the opposition, the media and everyone in between as he's seemingly nabbed every Hinrunde award available to him. It's only fitting that the same occur here. But what the community ratings show in addition is that Costa was not only was stellar for Bayern Munich but he was the key to their Hinrunde. His performance index placed him 7.5% higher than his next highest teammate, Franck Ribery, who barely played.

And that was a direct followup from this ability to beat opposition defenses with his speed, his incisive passing, his shooting or his movement. Each skill was stellar and Bayern Munich owed a great deal of their tremendous start to his rapid integration with this team.

However impressive Douglas Costa's first six months were, I would be remiss if didn't make special note of Robert Lewandowski. The strikers last 15 days of September say him net an absolutely ludicrous number of goals in addition to four Community Man of the Match awards. That performance streak may well go down as one of the greatest two weeks by a striker in world football this season.
