Timon Pauls and Peter Wenninger will hope to improve what Jürgen Jung and Michael Tarnat left behind.

Bayern Munich announced on Friday that the former responsibilities of Jürgen Jung and Michael Tarnat have been assigned to current youth team employees. Jung and Tarnat resigned from their roles within the youth academy last week. As a result, the positions of head youth scout and sporting director of the U15 to U9 teams have passed to Timon Pauls and Peter Wenninger, respectively. Youth director Wolfgang Dremmler expressed his satisfaction with the decision to promote from within, saying, "We have set the stage for excellent cooperation and occupied the positions competently."

Wenninger has worked within the Bayern youth system since 2003 and seems to be a natural choice to replace Tarnat. Pauls has worked as a youth scout since 2010, but his appointment may come as a surprise to some. At only 23 years of age he will be considered relatively young to hold such a position, but he has the potential to be molded into management's vision of head youth scout for years to come.

Bayern fans will certainly be hoping for improvements as it has been quite some time since an academy product has broken into the first team.
