Aaron Hunt pulls Hamburg level against Bayern Munich with long free kick

Lazy defending costs Bayern.

Despite starting off the second half with aplomb, Bayern Munich conceded a game-tying goal from a Aaron Hunt's free kick.

Following a streak of confidence with daring tries from Jerome Boateng, Douglas Costa, and Robert Lewandowski, a lazy pass by Xabi Alonso led to an advantageous fast break for Hamburger SV. Despite looking to recover, Thiago Alcantara committed a foul on Croatian Ivo Ilicevic, allowing Aaron Hunt, who has looked lively all night, a free kick.

The long shot appeared to have headed for the foot of Pierre-Michel Lasogga, but Manuel Neuer could do nothing as it sailed past both the aim of Lasogga and Xabi Alonso (who was mistakenly awarded an own goal). The score is now 1-1, with the visitors certainly not looking to settle for a draw.
