Javi Martinez makes another comeback for Bayern Munich

For the first time since May, Javi Martinez stepped on the field to play in competitive minutes against SV Darmstadt on Saturday. It's been a long, tumultuous return to the field for Javi, with so many starts-stops that there can be nobody as frustrated as he is.

Pep Guardiola said, "I am very happy for Javi. I really missed him this year." Martinez allows Guardiola to be a tad more adventurous in the attack due to his ability to play multiple positions. His ability to play centerback will be especially big for the club at the moment due to Medhi Benatia and Holger Badstuber still being absent.

"I'm extremely happy," Martínez said, "it's all good. There's been no reaction and no pain in my knee."

Everyone hopes that Javi can maintain his healthy and be available for selection for the rest of the season. He's such a great player and makes FC Bayern infinitely better.

Next? Holger Badstuber.
