Everything about Mario Götze's goal to ice Bayern Munich's victory over Olympiacos was impressive. Returning to the Bayern Munich team for the first time since before the international break, Götze only had minutes to make an impact as a late substitute appearance.
His touch on the pass from Kingsley Coman was beautifully done. That put him into space behind the Olympiacos backline to give him the space to take a shot. Götze quickly took the shot, and while Robert Jiminez Gago was able to get his hand to the ball, he couldn't get down quick enough to keep the shout out. Just like that, it was 2-0.
Götze has come under a lot of criticism in his time with FC Bayern, almost as much as his coach. If Bayern are to have the success that they want this season and win the triple again, Götze will and must be heavily involved in that plan.
