Who's in, who's out for Bayern Munich against Nöttingen

What do the injuries look like?

Bayern Munich take on Nöttingen in the first round of the DFB Pokal, but the Bavarians won't have a full compliment of players available to them at their disposal. One day, this will change for Pep Guardiola, but he'll be understaffed once again against the Oberliga side.

It appears as though Dante is set to make his first appearance of the early season. The Brazilian picked up a muscle injury during his summer vacation but will likely feature in some fashion in the Pokal.

Arjen Robben an Thiago Alcantara were two players that were conspicuous by their absence in the Audi Cup. However, the club then told us exactly why the two players didn't play, and it made sense. Both players are actually available for Bayern's use on Sunday, but it is likely that they will be on the bench in a protective case that says, "BREAK IN CASE OF EMERGENCY". Don't be surprised if neither take part against Nöttingen.

One player that apparently didn't make the trip is midfielder Sebastian Rode. According to Kicker, Rode is still hampered by a minor ankle injury that he picked up in the Audi Cup Final against Real Madrid and won't play against Nöttingen. He's expected to return to training on Monday following their return to Munich.

The two players that definitely won't be playing are Javi Martinez and Franck Ribery. Matthias Sammer assures us that Martinez is "coming along fine" from the patella tendon injury that he aggravated while the team was in China. He's even started his pre-return-to-training conditioning. As for Ribery, we'll see him when we see him.
