Let's hope she recovers quickly.

Bayern Munich star forward Lena Lotzen has been ruled out for "several weeks" after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on her left knee to repair a meniscus injury.

"I'm doing well so far, the surgery went well," Lotzen said. "I hope to be able to play completely pain-free again now."

The 21 year old is likely to miss several big games for the Frauen including Potsdam and Wolfsburg. Plus, if worse comes to worse and "several weeks" turns into "months", Lotzen would also miss a match against FFC Frankfurt. If her absence drags into October, she will also miss the first round match of FC Bayern's return to the UEFA Women's Champions League.

This is the second consecutive summer that Lotzen has had an operation on that knee. Last August, she had the ACL in the same knee repaired.

FCB have been strengthening the squad over the summer, and this includes bringing in two quality forwards in Lisa Evans and Nicole Rolser to help with their push in the Champions League.
