Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen will play in Saturday's big matchup between two teams at the top of the table. Both teams will have been buoyed by finding out their Champions League group stage opponents midweek and will be targeting a good performance on Saturday to let their fans know that the mean business.
Leverkusen will attempt to counter Bayern's possession attack with their version of ultimate gegenpressing. It will be interesting to see what the Leverkusen squad is like now that Heung-Min Son has left for Tottenham. Will it unite them in their disappointment that Son would choose to leave?
Pep Guardiola will have his work cut out for him in the match. He'll be without his two starting centerbacks as Jerome Boateng is suspended and Mehdi Benatia is injured. There are a few options that Guardiola can use. He can just plug in players to make the back four work, or we could see Xabi Alonso anchoring a back three.
This may not be the prettiest game from Bayern Munich, and they'll need every effort to win all three points on this one.
Once the lineups are released, this thread will be updated.
