Many people have been wondering what happens to Thiago Alcantara's time in Munich if Pep Guardiola decides to move on at the end of the 2015-16 season. Will he stay or will he go? Everyone remembers Guardiola's "Thiago or no one" request to the Bayern board before the midfielder joined FCB two summers ago. Does that mean that the two have an entwined future in the game?
Thiago has agreed to a new contract with Bayern that will keep him playing his Fußball at the Allianz Arena through the 2019 season, Bayern Munich announced Thursday morning. The new deal will reportedly give Thiago a base salary of €8 million with incentives that will take him to €9 million, according to Bild.
Thiago's reported decision to remain in Munich is a big boost to Bayern supporters that questioned whether Thiago was committed to Bayern or just Guardiola.
The only question now is if Thiago received an assurance from Guardiola that he's staying in Munich beyond this season.
