Coming on the heels of the World Cup, the time has never been stronger for a fresh season of the Frauen Bundesliga. And for Bayern Munich fans, the strength of the German national team at the World Cup and hot on the heels of the Frauen's first ever Bundesliga trophy, this season has the potential to be dynamite.
That all kicks off on August 30th with a visit from Turbine Potsdam, one of the other high octane sides of the Frauen Bundesliga.
The other fixtures of notable significance are the Matchday 3 clash with VfL Wolfsburg in early September and the Matchday 7 matchup against FFC Frankfurt and their reverse fixtures on February 21st and April 17th respectively. Together with Potsdam, those three sides represent the most significant threat to Bayern Munich retaining the Frauen Bundesliga title and these fixtures should not be taken lightly by any side.
Wisely the DFB saw fit not to schedule any -- at least at this point -- highly competitive fixtures around the Women's Champions League dates this season, the first of which take place mid-week the first two week's of October. Bayern Munich Frauen will learn their opponent at the Round of 32 draw on August 20th following the qualifying rounds.
Their entire Frauen Bundesliga schedule is below.
