After 9 seasons stretching over two separate runs, Claudio Pizarro and Bayern Munich are going their separate ways. Pizarro's contract was not renewed at the end of June, and the only thing that remained was an announcement of some sort between the club or the player. Pizarro publicly said his goodbye via Twitter.
He's expressed his desire to continue playing his football in Germany and has been linked with Augsburg and Hannover in recent weeks. As of now, it's not clear where Pizarro will end up to finish out his career.
The Peruvian finishes as the ninth highest goalscorer in Bundesliga history, and it doesn't look like he's going to be passed by any time soon.
Pizarro thanked the "FC Bayern Family" on Twitter.
Vielen Dank an die ganze FC Bayern Familie, es war die beste Zeit in meiner Karriere! Ich werde euch niemals vergessen! Alles Gute FCBayern!

Farewell, Claudio. Perhaps we'll see each other again.
