Bayern Munich Open Bundesliga Season vs. Hamburger SV; Full 2015/16 Fixture List

Bayern Munich will kick off their 2015/16 Bundesliga season against Hamburger SV, the club that narrowly avoided relegation for the second consecutive season. The two storied clubs will open the season on August 14 to kick off the new German domestic season.

The two will face each other on Match Day 1 for the fifth time in their Bundesliga tenures. It is a fixture Bayern have never lost, winning twice and drawing twice in their previous four openers.

The rest of the fixture list is heterogeneous for Bayern; unlike last season, only once do the Rekordmeister play opponents who qualified for European competition in consecutive match days. However, Bayern play Borussia Mönchengladbach – a team they did not defeat in 2014/15 – on Match Day 15 and 32, the latter fixture sandwiched between two potential semifinal legs in the UEFA Champions League.

The Rückrunde will also have one less fixture, the DFB-Pokal Quarterfinals moving back before the Winterpause like it has been in years past. The second half of the season will also be slightly less compact, Bayern not having to play a midweek fixture until after Match Day 20.
