Germany announced their U19 squad that coach Oliver Sorg will use for the UEFA U19 Euro Championship, and Bayern Munich players Gianluca Gaudino, Marco Hingerl, and Sinan Kurt did not make the cut. All three were not among the call-ups either after training with Germany U19's earlier this month.
Gaudino was the midfielder most likely to make the team, having made three starts in five appearances with the U19s. Sorg will have Ingolstadt's Max Christiansen and Hoffenheim's Erdal Örzturk at his disposal instead of Gaudino, who played 460 minutes with Bayern's first team in the 2014/15 season.
Hingerl, who just signed a three year contract with Freiburg, was an outside shot to make the team, having only made one start with the U19s in six appearances. Sorg elected to have Borussia Mönchengladbach's Mahmoud Dahoud and Stuttgart's Mart Ristl as the midfielders ready at his beckon call instead. Kurt meanwhile has slowly fallen off of the national team radar for the time being, although he and Gaudino were two of the younger members originally called in to the squad.
The Germany U19s are in a tough group, due to face Spain, Netherlands, and Russia. The tournament will start for them on July 7.
