Bayern Munich hosted FC Augsburg at the Allianz Arena on Matchday 32. That's about all they did though, as they lost 1-0 behind a 71st minute goal from Raul Bobadilla that was assisted by on-loan Bayern Munich midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. That was after going down a man in the 13th minute. Here were the standout performers.
Tip of the Cap: Manuel Neuer. What should have been a lazy Saturday for Manuel Neuer was interrupted in the 13th minute when Pepe Reina decided to perform a WWE manuever on Raul Bobadilla. The Spanish international rightly received a straight red card. Neuer came off the bench and performed excellently, notching three saves and helping Bayern build out of the back.
Golf Clap: Bastian Schweinsteiger. After Pepe Reina's sending off, Schweinsteiger was the man in midfield for Bayern on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. Notching 100 passes including 4 key passes, he was the offensive hub of the Bayern midfield but he also was a stalwart defensive influence garnering six tackles and an interception to boot.
Standing Ovation: Raul Bobadilla. The Augsburg striker was a nightmare for the Bayern Munich backline repeatedly getting behind them and scoring the lone goal of the match. His excellent run and control on Marwin Hitz's long boot into the Bayern half was the deciding element in the lead up to the red card to Pepe Reina.
Meister of the Match: Mario Götze. The recently maligned midfielder had one of his better performances for Bayern Munich in recent months as he cut in off the left wing and pulled the strings through the center of midfield. His 5 shots were the most on a Bayern Munich side that really struggled to create attacks of much substance.
