New, comments

in a game where Leverkusen played inspired, impressive soccer to take down the Bavarian beasts, these are the players who stood out.

Tip Of The Cap: Dante. Dante normally is a source of much consternation for Bayern fans, but in this game he was actually pretty solid and certainly the best on the pitch for Die Roten. He led the team in touches and passes, completing 88 percent of them, was five for eight on through balls, again leading his team. He also led the team in tackles and clearances. In a game where not much went right for Bayern, Dante was the most reliable player on the field.

Golf Clap: Heung-Min Son. The forgotten man of Leverkusen's potent attack today, Son played a very strong game. The 22-year-old South Korean international teamed up really nicely with his fellow attacking compatriots to form one of the best attacking soccer Leverkusen has played this season. He had a team high six successful dribbles to go along with four tackles, showing off his box to box game. This will be a growing theme among the rest of the awards recipients.

Standing Ovation: Hakan Çalhanoglu. The 21-year-old Turkish international played a very strong game. His free kick goal to open the scoring was enough to put him on this list. His play outside of that goal was enough to warrant a standing ovation. He, Karim Bellarabi and Son teamed up beautifully to keep the Bayern defenders on their toes. He led the team in key passes, while also playing responsible defense, chipping in four tackles in his own end.

Meister Of The Match: Karim Bellarabi. Karim was all over the pitch both offensively and defensively. He completed 92 percent of his passes and had several successful dribbles, while harassing the Bayern attack, shutting down their wing play forcing them to go through the middle. His work rate was impressive and he seemed to have a little edge to him that carried over to the rest of the team.
