On the final day of the Frauen Bundesliga season, Bayern Munich needed to win and a little bit of help from FFC Frankfurt to win the league championship. While FC Bayern handled their business, Frankfurt held Wolfsburg to a 1-1 draw helping Bayern win the Bundesliga.
That Frankfurt goal was scored by Spanish international Veronica "Vero" Boquete. Today, FC Bayern announced that Vero would be joining the club on a two year contract through the summer of 2017.
Boquete has played in the last two Champions League Finals and won this season with Frankfurt. She will be with Spain at the World Cup this summer and brings a world of experience with her to the club.
The 28 year old has spent many years bouncing between European leagues and the leagues in the United States. She spent 2014 with the Portland Thorns of the NWSL. Kristen Gehrke, who covers the Thorns for Prost Amerika, described Vero as having "the ability to make something from nothing" and "she speaks with a passion for the game that makes you think she's speaking directly to you personally".

The international influence continues to grow on FCB Frauen, and the club hopes it will help them compete for all three trophies next season.
