Bayern Munich return to the field on Saturday against Freiburg. Since being eliminated from Barcelona midweek, Bayern only have two matches remaining in the Bundesliga season, but they also have nothing to really play for at this point except for pride. The Bavarians have clinched the Bundesliga championship. They only want to win the upcoming matches, because FC Bayern want t win every match.
On a not-so-fun angle, Manuel Neuer was announced as doubtful for the match meaning Bayern II goalkeeper Ivan Lucic could get the start in goal. Neuer is currently tied with Oliver Kahn for the most clean sheets in a single Bundesliga season (19), so it would be nice to see the world's number one goalkeeper get the start in goal to take this record.
FCB players have talked all week about how they want to honor the competition of the league and continue to play hard in their remaining matches. While next week against Mainz will basically mean nothing, the match against Freiburg directly affects the one of the wildest relegation battles in quite some time.
Once the lineups are released, this thread will be updated.
