Who do you think Pep Guardiola is going to start against Barcelona?

One game that we like to play here at Bavarian Football Works is to see just how close our very own Davis VanOpdorp comes to predicting Pep Guardiola's lineup for various matches throughout the season in his match previews. He's had some perfect selections as of late. Whether or not that's due to the fact that Bayern's lineup options are severely limited is neither here nor there. The point is that Davis is getting them correct!

In the first leg, while he may have been off on Pep's starting formation, he absolutely nailed the eleven guys that were on the field for the opening kickoff. This time, facing a three goal deficit in the return leg at the Allianz Arena, who did Davis pick for FC Bayern's starting eleven in this must win match?

Projected Lineup (4-3-3):

Mario Götze - Robert Lewandowski - Thomas Müller

Bastian Schweinsteiger - Xabi Alonso - Philipp Lahm

Juan Bernat - Jérôme Boateng - Medhi Benatia - Rafinha

Manuel Neuer

Obviously, with Pep Guardiola as the head coach, it's nearly impossible to figure out what the formation should be called due to the regular fluidity with which FC Bayern play. However, there are lineup predictions out there that vary from Davis's picks, and those lineups differ on one player: Thiago Alcantara.

Bildfor instance, thinks that Bastian Schweinsteiger will find himself on the bench to start the match with Thiago in his place. There are also some predictions out there that Thiago will replace Mario Götze in the starting eleven.

As for the projected Barcelona lineup, it seems to be a universal acceptance that this will be the side rolled out by Luis Enrique at the Allianz Arena.

Projected Lineup (4-3-3):

Neymar - Luis Suárez - Lionel Messi

Andrés Iniesta - Sergio Busquets - Ivan Rakitić

Jordi Alba - Javier Mascherano - Gerard Piqué - Dani Alves

Marc-André ter Stegen
