In a final rematch, Bayern Munich will face Borussia Dortmund in the DFB-Pokal semifinals. The match will take place on April 28 in Allianz Arena.
This match will be the eight meeting between the two clubs in the Pokal, and will make it fourth in a row Bayern and Dortmund will face each other four times in one campaign. Bayern has won both legs of the Bundesliga fixture this season, and has won five of seven meetings against Dortmund in the Pokal.
Both Bayern and Dortmund needed extra time to escape the quarterfinals. Sebastian Kehl coming up with the winning goal for Dortmund in extra time against Hoffenheim, while Manuel Neuer got the necessary save in the penalty shootout against Bayer Leverkusen. Bayern needed extra time in the DFB-Pokal final last season to lift the trophy, Arjen Robben netting the winner in the 107th minute.
Cup surprise Arminia Bielefeld will host Wolfsburg in the other semifinal, possibly setting up a rematch between the top two teams in the Bundesliga.That match will take place on April 29 in SchücoArena.
The semifinal for Bayern falls before a Bundesliga match against Leverkusen, and could be the midweek fixture before the Champions League semifinals. That run of fixtures will undoubtedly be another tough stretch of matches Bayern will have to overcome in their three front quest to their second treble in three years.
