With VfL Wolfsburg and Borussia Dortmund having booked their places in the DFB Pokal semi-finals, it's now time for Bayern Munich to do the same. Standing in their way though is Roger Schmidt's Bayer Leverkusen and their high pressing corps of players.
It will be an anxious game for Bayern Munich as they're without the services of Arjen Robben, Franck Ribery and Bastian Schweinsteiger in a critical match on their march towards another treble. Without Robben and Ribery on the weekend, Pep Guardiola opted for a conservative defensive strategy that surprised everyone including Jurgen Klopp. Rolling out that trick two times in a week won't be easy for Guardiola and squaring off against as astute a coach as Roger Schmidt makes that even more difficult.
On the opposite side Bayer Leverkusen are seeking some of their first silverware as a club while they simultaneously fight for their place to qualify for the UEFA Champions League in the Bundesliga. However without one of their most free flowing attacking players in Heung-Min Son, there are questions about the ability of the Leverkusen attack to break down Bayern Munich's defense.
Once the lineups are released, this thread will be updated.
