Holger Badstuber won't stop getting injured, now out 3-4 months

Holger Badstuber sustained a tear in his left thigh and will require surgery and three to four months

Double ACL blowups and a two year turn layoff. A thigh tear and 4 month extended absence. These are just the Holger Badstuber has sustained in the last two-and-a-half-years. Now you can add a second thigh tear to that list as today the club released that Badstuber tore a muscle in his left thigh in Bayern Munich's 6-1 win over FC Porto and will be treated surgically in the United States. It's unclear if this is a re-injury of the same one Badstuber suffered in September where he also tore a muscle in his left thigh, or just yet another injury for a player who was once of the most promising centerbacks in Germany.

This absolutely sucks, and not just for Badstuber or Bayern Munich or for us as fans. This sucks all the way around. Badstuber was just settling into a routine of play, redeveloping his rapport with the rest of his teammates. That rapport has been critical in recent week's and no more so than in Tuesday's match where he and Boateng were fundamental parts of Bayern's evisceration of FC Porto.

With Badstuber down, Bayern Munich now have a grand total of two healthy centerbacks. Medhi Benatia is still out with some weird injury that never seems to be healed and is continually re-aggravated and Javi Martinez just returned to team training so it's not likely he will play a part with this team for a couple weeks.
