Bayern Munich are set to take on FC Porto in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals. Having knocked out the Group H runner-up, Shakhtar Donetsk, in the Round of 16, Bayern will now take on the group's Champion.

The paths Bayern and Porto have endured in the Champions League this season have been vastly different. Porto had to qualify for the Champions League the hard way, having to dispatch Lille OSC in a Champions League qualifier. Porto put together a drama-less campaign in the group of life, while Bayern outclassed what became a true group of death. Both received fortunate draws in the Round of 16, but Porto's luck in the draw has run out.

Porto are currently four points behind reigning Champions Benfica in the Premeira Liga, Colombian Jackson Martinez leading the charge with 17 goals. Yacine Brahimi has continued to lift his game after he helped Algeria get to the Round of 16 of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, becoming a key cog in manager Julen Lopetegui's midfield.

Compared to the other possible opponents Bayern could have drew, their fixture with Porto is one of the more storied fixtures. They will square off in their third quarterfinal, the first two quarterfinal clashes coming in 1990/91 and 1999/2000. Bayern have lost just once to Porto, but that loss came in the 1987 Champions League final where Bayern surrendered two goals in two minutes to Rabah Madjer and Jorge Juary late in the match to throw away their fourth title.

Bayern have never failed to advance past Porto in the knockout stages, and they will be heavy favorites to do so again this season. The first leg will be in the Estádio Do Dragão on April 15 and the second leg will take place in the Allianz Arena on April 21. Here is how the rest of the quarterfinal draw played out:

Real Madrid vs. Atlético Madrid

Paris Saint-Germain vs. Barcelona

FC Porto vs. Bayern Munich

Juventus vs. AS Monaco
