Philipp Lahm just rejoined team training on Monday after months of absence recovering from a broken ankle. Despite that recent return, the Bayern Munich captain will be in the 18-man squad today for their Champions League Round of 16 second leg against Shaktar Donetsk, the club reported.
Great news: Philipp #Lahm is in #FCBayern's 18-man squad today for the first time in 16 weeks since fracturing his ankle! #FCBFCSD

Happy is about the only way to describe this moment.
I'm assuming that Lahm will be on the bench to start the match. If he actually starts, then all praise be unto Dr. Hans Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfarth who I'm going to unofficially officially label a witch doctor for that voodoo. Bayern Munich has had issues in the central midfield in recent matches, with the pairing of Alonso and Schweinsteiger taking the entire brunt of the criticism. While Alonso won't be available for this match following his red card in the first leg, if Lahm is ready to make the bench then he probably fit enough to play 20-30 minutes, and that could be a massive push to get Bayern over the line in this tough fixture.
