Quotes

Pep Guardiola

"I'm not happy, I'm very, very, very happy. Obviously we wanted all three points, but 70 minutes with a man less against Schalke isn't easy. We controlled the game very well and we had enough chances. It was a much better performance than against Wolfsburg. Everything's OK - there's no debate about the red card! We were lucky they missed the penalty."

Bastian Schweinsteiger

"We were better than in the game against Wolfsburg, we had more control and we never let them get at us on the break. But we're not happy with a 1-1 draw. We were down to ten men but we still had chances to win it. We'll go to Stuttgart now looking for a victory."

Arjen Robben

"We battled away, we ran our hearts out and played good football against ultra-defensive opponents. We controlled the game - and we had a man less! It's definitely a frustrating result. Obviously we were down to ten men, but we've gone 1-0 up and then we let Höwedes make it 1-1 - that can't be happening! If you concede a goal like that in the Champions League it can be fatal."

Roberto di Matteo (Schalke coach)

"We've taken a point away from home. Our tactics worked out well, but we're still a bit disappointed because we've missed a penalty. The draw is probably more or less the right result."
