Bayern Munich handled business in Friday's Bundesliga showcase match with a victory over Köln. While the match was closer than that scoreline would indicate, nobody is going to lose too much sleep over a 4-1 win. The result vaulted Bayern eleven points ahead of second place Wolfsburg who have what's turned into a tough task ahead of them on Sunday.
The highlight match of the weekend is the Revierderby in the Ruhr where Schalke visit archrival Borussia Dortmund. BVB have finally begun to put together a nice run of form for the first time all season, and they have a chance to make a statement on Saturday against the hated nemesis. If Jürgen Klopp's team can put together a solid 90 minutes and collect all three points, they will be at most seven points out of a spot in Europe.
On the loan front, Pierre Hojbjerg and Augsburg visit the capital in a match against the struggling Hertha BSC. Don't look away. If results go their way this weekend, Augsburg could be sitting in third place by the end of it. While Hojbjerg's loan is going well, Julian Green's over in Hamburg isn't quite as nice. The winger hasn't found himself on the matchday roster in quite some time, and Hamburg keep paying Bayern extra money to not play him. Will he make the squad against Eintracht Frankfurt?
You should keep your eye on the Werder Bremen and Wolfsburg match on Sunday. Werder comes into the match red hot having not lost in their last six matches with five of them being victories. This run includes wins over Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen and Augsburg. Wolfsburg will be the favorites on the road in Bremen, but they should not take the hosts lightly.
