Two goals. Two assists. Arjen Robben's dominant performance against SC Paderborn on Saturday has earned the Dutchman the Bundesliga Player of the Week award for Matchday 22.
It's become a recurring theme both in the official Bundesliga awards, and in our own community ratings, for Arjen Robben to run away with the voting and this week was no different as he won the award with 45% of the vote beating out FC Ausgburg's Marwin Hitz and Wolfsburg's Bas Dost.
While Robben's first goal was a penalty it was his second, a lovely incisive run followed by a close range flick, as well as his assists to setup Franck Ribery's goal along with Robert Lewandowski's first that earned him the award. All in all, it was yet another impressive game that demonstrated just how important Arjen Robben has been to Bayern Munich's success this season. And for the league's best team to also feature the league's best player is very apropos.
