Continuing their global expansion in 2015, Bayern Munich will be heading to China this summer for a couple of friendlies. This follows the summer of 2014 where the club visited the United States for two friendlies against Chivas Guadalajara and the MLS All Stars.

In a wide ranging interview with Bild, executive board member Jörg Wacker revealed some details about Bayern's plans for China. Wacker was named to the executive board in July 2013, and the club announced that his responsibilities were "internationalization and strategy".

Wacker revealed that Bayern are planning a tour of China in late July with two friendlies, one each in Beijing and Shanghai. The club estimates that there are 90 million Bayern fans in China. As with all clubs that make such claims, there isn't any actual evidence presented to back this claim.

Bayern are working on an independent Chinese website and app, that will mirror what they've done with their United States services. The club also is looking to have a web shop up and running by the time they visit.

However, the all-important question is asked: Will Bayern bring in a Chinese player just to have one on the roster? Wacker responded very matter-of-factly, "Players are chosen by quality and not nationality." Phew.
