LONG LIVE THE KING!

Franck Ribery made the bench for Bayern Munich's away match in the Bundesliga against Borussia Mönchengladbach. Then, with Bayern trailing 'Gladbach 3-0 in the 75th minute, Pep Guardiola made the change. The King was back.

After nine long months dealing with a what appeared to be a never-ending-ankle injury, Ribery made his triumphant return to the field in style. Six minutes after coming onto the field, the Frenchman made sure nobody forgot about him.

The goal was simply sensational. Ribery started the play out wide before finding Thomas Müller just inside the penalty area. As Ribery continued his run into the box, Müller passed the ball to Arturo Vidal at the penalty spot. Ribery, still on his run, took the ball from Vidal's feet and found himself one-on-one with Yann Sommer. There was nothing the goalkeeper could do as Ribery passed the ball around him and into the back of the net.

Ribery's goal marked a long period of uncertainty regarding his health and future at Bayern.

The King is back. Long live the King.
