Today in Munich, FC Bayern held a media gathering with Thiago Alcantara, Thomas Müller, and Xabi Alonso to promote the Gigaset ME for platinum sponsor Gigaset. Of course, members of the media never fail to ask the Bayern Munich players the important questions.
For Thiago, that revolves around his current injury. A few weeks ago, Thiago picked up an injury in Spain's friendly with England during the dreaded international break. Bayern announced that the midfielder would be out for "3-4 weeks", and that time is coming to a close.
When asked about his return to FCB training, Thiago announced that he expects to be back in team training "next week". This fits right in line with his timeline of missing training and games. Thankfully, it's looking like this is not going to stretch out into a long-term injury where he misses several months.
Thiago's play in recent weeks leading up to his injury was exemplary and helped him earn a spot back in the crowded Spanish midfield. His abilities in the middle of the park will go a long way to making sure Bayern lift trophies (three, please?) in the spring.
