With every other player heading off on the winter break, Bayern Munich's headquarters at Säbener Straße is an empty place these days. Well, "empty" except for at least one player who's sticking around for a little longer.
Mario Götze has stayed behind for a few extra days before the winter break to continue his rehabilitation from injury. Götze was estimated to miss between 10-12 weeks which would put him returning in time for the start of Bayern's winter training camp in Qatar.
In the Germany match against the Republic of Ireland in the beginning of October, Götze was forced to leave the match after suffering an adductor strain. His rehab and recovery has been completed mostly without much fanfare, but a healthy Götze in the second half of the season gives FCB another dimension to the attack that has been lacking with his absence.
