We've all heard the rumors and stories circulating in the media about Pep Guardiola leaving, and, sure enough, it's been followed by an undercurrent of which players will be leaving next, now that the greatest coach in the world is calling it quits.
All the Spaniards must be leaving, right, now that the head Spaniard in charge is done? And Thomas Müller will rejoin his former coach/mentor Louis van Gaal, not to mention his buddy Bastian Schweinsteiger at Manchester United. And Jerome Boateng can pick his big money club, because who among the Manchester clubs, Chelsea, Real Madrid and PSG wouldn't want to add one of the best center backs in the game?
Well, not so fast. FC Bayern Munich, still one of the big boys when it comes to success, wages, and comfortable work environment, has something to say about that.
Today, the club announced that Thomas Müller, Jerome Boateng and Javier Martinez all signed maximum-length contract extensions (limited to five years in German football), while Xabi Alonso, who had been rumored to be going everywhere from back to Liverpool, Real Madrid, Real Sociedad, to the MLS or the Middle East, when his current contract was set to expire this summer, signed on for another year.
Looks like Christmas came early at FC Bayern Munich! Thomas Müller, Jérôme Boateng, Javi Martínez (all through 2021)& Xabi Alonso (2017) have extended their contracts! #MiaSanMia

Who will be next to commit themselves further to the Rekordmeister? Let's hope that today's news will spurn some of the others into action.
