The four seeded teams for the 2016 Copa America Centenario have been announced by CONMEBOL and CONCACAF. The four groups will be headed by Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, and the United States. Bayern Munich will likely have Douglas Costa representing Brazil and Arturo Vidal representing Chile in the competition.
The United States are a seeded team due to being the host of the competition, while Argentina gets a seed for having the highest FIFA ranking. The seeds for Brazil and Mexico were determined in an interesting way. They were handed their seeds for being "the most decorated nations in the last 100 years in international competitions from their respective confederations.".
The tournament is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the first Copa America. It will be held in the United States with six CONCACAF teams joining the ten CONMEBOL teams. The games will take place from June 3-26. In case you were wondering, Euro 2016 will be taking place from June 10 through July 10.
The draw for the group stage will be taking place in February, according to Doug McIntyre of ESPN.
