To say that Holger Badstuber has been unlucky with injuries would be the understatement of the century. The talented and extremely popular Bayern Munich youth product has been hit by the injury bug so many times in his career already, that he's already missed more time than he's played, having to sit out 190 games total, compared to playing in 114 (according to transfermarkt.de).
But, he's like a Weeble toy, he gets knocked down, he dusts himself off, rubs some dirt on it, goes through rehab, if necessary, and bounces back up, ready for more.
Needless to say, when he finally got another start (his first of this Bundesliga season), his fans can be excused for fearing the worst when he clanked heads with FC Ingolstadt's Lukas Hinterseer, going down with a massively bleeding head wound. But, what's a cut on your head compared to ligament and muscle tears? Bah!
After getting patched up twice (the second time after the original bandage slipped up his forehead, which allowed the cut to open back up), he played through the entire game with what looked like a turban, evoking memories of Dieter Hoeneß's gritty performance in the DFB Pokal final, where Uli's brother continued playing with a similar head wound, coming back from a 0-2 deficit to win the game 4-2, crowning the achievement with a tally of his own ... scored with his head, of course.
Well, it looks like the Weeble has popped up again. Holger posted on Saturday before following up on Sunday:
Once a fighter always a fighter. No worries - I'm feeling good. #PowerON pic.twitter.com/8QpkHLxWw0

Translation: "The day after: No big deal. I can play for sure on Tuesday."
Is anyone surprised?
