Holger Badstuber returns to action for Bayern Munich against Stuttgart

Finally!

Great news, everyone! During Bayern Munich's match against Stuttgart, Holger Badstuber returned to the field! Badstuber came on just before the hour mark as a second half substitute for Thomas Müller and was serenaded by the FC Bayern supporters who were extremely happy to see his return to action.

Badstuber has been out since the spring when he suffered a thigh injury against FC Porto in the UEFA Champions League. He was out for 200 days, adding up to 935 missed due to injury in his career! (Thanks Cristian Nyari for that.) Perennially injured, nothing would make Bayern happier than a healthy Badstuber eschewing his injurious past.

If he and his fellow centerback Medhi Benatia manage to remain healthy, Bayern will have four players capable of playing centerback at an elite level. Jerome Boateng is among the world's best, and Javi Martinez has proven that he's able to slot in at centerback and keep the team moving forward.

Welcome back, Holger!
