During Bayern Munich's Annual General Meeting, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confirmed that Bayern Munich would, one day, hold a farewell match for Bastian Schweinsteiger. The match would take place when Schweinsteiger decides to hang up his boots.
Rummenigge called Schweinsteiger "Mr. FC Bayern" during the brief discussion about the former FCB midfielder. Bastian is under contract with Manchester United through the end of the 2017-18 season. While there is obviously no information on the match yet, one could expect the match will feature current and former FC Bayern players along with an assortment of world greats.
Bayern sold Schweinsteiger to Manchester United during the summer after the Germany captain requested a transfer for a new challenge at the end of his career.
Unfortunately for Bastian, things haven't been going swimmingly in Manchester. While United sit in second place in the English Premier League, Schweinsteiger specifically has come under criticism by former MU players Paul Scholes and Rio Ferdinand for his style of play.
Don't worry, Bastian. You'll always have a home in Munich.
