UEFA has released the full slate of names that have been nominated for the UEFA Team of the year. A total of 40 players have made the initial list including 6 players from Bayern Munich.

Manuel Neuer, David Alaba, Jerome Boateng, Arturo Vidal, Thomas Muller, and Robert Lewandowski have been listed among Europe's elite. Those players (without Vidal) helped lead Bayern to another Bundesliga championship in the spring, along with a semifinal appearance in both the DFB Pokal and the UEFA Champions League. This season (with Vidal) the Bavarians are unbeaten in the league and top of their Champions League group.

Only two more Bundesliga players were nominated: Bayer Leverkusen's Hakan Calhanoglu and Wolfsburg's Ricardo Rodriguez.
