Alicante, Spain witnessed a potentially tremendous blow to Bayern Munich's campaign on Friday evening. Thiago Alcantara was in the starting lineup for Spain in their friendly against England. Twenty six minutes into the match, Thiago was walking off the field after picking up another injury.

The Spanish federation has revealed that the injury involves his MCL in his right knee, and there is swelling. Thiago is returning to Munich immediately to be treated by Bayern's doctors. This was a non-contact injury like most of Thiago's injuries since joining Bayern Munich. This would be tche fourth injury to his right MCL.

Since returning to health this season for Bayern, Thiago has been a force in the midfield for Pep Guardiola's club. The Spaniard, once again, appears to be the key player for FC Bayern to do the things that they want to do to their opponents.

The full extent of Thiago's injury isn't known yet, but one will likely be revealed once the midfielder returns to Munich.

Will the (potentially) greatest midfielder of his generation please stop getting hurt?
