Franck Ribéry undertook a light running session at Bayern Munich training on Thursday, continuing his progression from his ankle injury.
His running regimen started at the end of last week according to Bayern's website, but he returned to the training pitch for the first time this week. Ribéry has been out of action since March with this ankle issue. Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge Rummenigge and manager Pep Guardiola both are hoping Ribéry can return sooner rather than later, perhaps by the end of October.
Medhi Benatia is also progressing well from his thigh injury he suffered at the end of August in Hoffenheim. Like Ribéry, he also progressed to running at training this week, and he feels he is taking the right steps towards his recovery.
"I am feeling better in the meantime," said Benatia. The 28-year-old defender is hoping "that I can return to team training in the next 10 to 14 days."
