Bayern Munich have seen more encouraging sign from their injured players at the beginning of this international break. Arjen Robben and Medhi Benatia both trained on Monday, and apparently Franck Ribéry has been running as well.
The club revealed on their website Robben joined Joshua Kimmich and Rafinha in an intensive training session, which included shots, dribbling, and sprints. Robben has missed over a month of football with a groin injury he suffered with the Netherlands in their UEFA Euro qualifier against Iceland. Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge hopes that he and Ribéry can return to action sooner rather than later.
"I hope that they both come back," said Rummenigge. "I think Robben will come back after the break. And Franck is back running in training. I hope he can come back quickly. The two will be good for our game."
Benatia also did some running at training on Monday, his first on-field activity since the hamstring injury he suffered in August against Hoffenheim. Having already missed a month and a half, the club has still not given a definitive timetable for his return.
