Bayern Munich continued their Bundesliga title defense with another victory, this time a 2-0 win over Werder Bremen. The Bavarians remain at the top of the table, tied on points with with Frankfurt.

With their Champions League match midweek, a few regulars were rested in favor of Caroline Abbé, Viktoria Schnaderbeck, Lisa Evans, and Eunice Beckmann. Carina Wenninger received her 100th Bundesliga appearance for Bayern for Thomas Wörle's side in a late substitution appearance.

FCB opened the first half with a rather dominating performance against the newly-promoted team. However, they were unable to find the back of the net with one of their many shots. It wasn't until midway through the second half that they finally broke the ice.

Lisa Evans nabbed Bayern's first goal in the 60th minute. She broke past the Werder defense and slipped the ball past Jennifer Martens to give FCB the 1-0 lead. Melanie Leupolz finished off the scoring int the 80th minute to secure the three points for Bayern.

With Wolfsburg dropping points against Freiburg over the weekend, Bayern and FFC Frankfurt have separated themselves at the top of the table by a full three points over their next closest challenger. The two sides will meet for the first time this season on November 1 in Frankfurt.

FC Bayern return to the field on Wednesday in the Netherlands against FC Twente for their first match in the UEFA Women's Champions League.
