Bayern Munich bounce Wolfsburg from DFB Pokal

Moving on to the next round.

With the Round of 16 calling on Tuesday, Bayern Munich answered the call. The Bavarians cruised to a 3-1 victory over Wolfsburg in the Round of 32. FCB have now outscored Wolfsburg 8-2 in two matches this season.

Douglas Costa opened the scoring for Bayern on the day with an outstanding strike in the 15th minute. With the visitors controlling the match early, Costa decided to hit the highlight reel. His strike left Diego Benaglio with absolutely no chance at the save and gave Bayern the 1-0 lead.

Four minutes later, Wolfsburg didn't know what even hit them. Kingsley Coman played a give-and-go with David Alaba, before bombing down the left flank. His cross found the feet of Costa, but the Brazilian's shot was deflected. The ball ended up with Alaba, who whipped a cross on the ground across the box. Thomas Müller was there to finish the chance and double Bayern's lead.

Alaba and Coman played another give-and-go on the left flank, this time Alaba running free. The Austrian swung in a cross that once again found the foot of Müller. Half an hour passed and FC Bayern led 3-0.

In the dying minutes of the game, Wolfsburg picked up a consolation goal. Maximilian Arnold played a great ball into the box and Andre Schürrle beat Manuel Neuer to save some face for Wolfsburg.

While we look into the future to see who Bayern will play in the next round, there is one name that stands out. How fun would a Munich derby against 1860 sound?
