Arturo Vidal will return for Bayern Munich in their match against Borussia Dortmund, Pep Guardiola revealed on Friday. The manager said Vidal practiced on Friday and will be ready to go again on Sunday.
Vidal missed Bayern's 5-0 victory against Dinamo Zagreb with a minor injury. Thiago Alcantara and Joshua Kimmich played in midfield in his stead, Mario Götze playing centrally as well. Sebastian Rode missed the match as well, but unlike Vidal, Guardiola has ruled him out for selection this weekend.
Guardiola also ruled out the return of Arjen Robben, who is coming to the end of the four week timetable Bayern estimated in his original prognosis. Robben returned to running earlier this week after missing several weeks with a muscle injury he suffered while on international duty.
"He has not trained with us yet," Guardiola said. "He is in the last phase of his processes, but I don't know if he can play Sunday."
Kicker reported earlier this week Robben would definitely miss the match, the 31-year-old admitting himself his injury was better but "still not good enough." Robben also revealed his frustration with his recent injuries.
"It is pretty crappy," Robben said. "The frustrating thing is that I am doing everything to be as fit as possible. That actually goes pretty well. I was fully fit for two years, and now I am experiencing the relapse of three injuries in a row."
